GOA FORWARD PARTY DEMAND CBI PROBE AFTER CM APPROVES ACB INQUIRY INTO LABOURGATE SCAM
PANAJI: Goa Forward Party on Friday demanded CBI probe into the alleged labourgate scam even as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant approved to hold inquiry by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Vigilance department.
GFP vice president Durgadas Kamat said that the party had no faith in ACB because it comes directly under the purview of the Chief Minister.
Kamat said that the Goa Lokayukta in his order had recommended CBI inquiry if the involvement of politicians and high-ranking-officials was found in siphoning off funds of the labourers.
The government had started relief scheme for building and other construction workers during COVID time. He alleged that the funds meant for labourers was siphoned off by BJP workers.
