PANAJI: Dr Vikash Yadav, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at School of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Goa University has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Early Career Research Grant amounting to Rs 71.3 lakhs from the “Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India”.

His awarded project focuses on parental-specific genome organization in the regulation of genomic imprinting, a critical area in plant molecular biology that can provide new insights into hybridization barriers and seed development crucial for improving agricultural yield and food security.

Dr Yadav is also heading a project as lead investigator on ‘Chickpea Seed Development’ funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

The recognition of Dr Yadav’s research under the esteemed ANRF program highlights his significant contributions to advancing plant genomics and further strengthening Goa University’s growing research capabilities.
