CHILD DAY AS ‘BALIKA SHAKTI DIWAS’
DONA PAULA: Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, GoaMiles is proud to host the second annual Balika Shakti Diwas on the occasion of International Girl Child Day at a function organise at International Centre Goa (ICG), Dona Paula on October 11 at 6 pm wherein Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will be the chief gust and Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) chairman Ganesh Gaonkar will be the guest of honours. This event honors the girl child and highlights the contributions of dedicated drivers, whose daughters are integral to the GoaMiles community.
Balika Shakti Diwas serves as a platform to emphasize GoaMiles’ commitment to empowering the girl child and celebrating the daughters of drivers. This initiative aligns with International Girl Child Day, which aims to promote education, equality, and opportunities for girls worldwide.
As part of Goa’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, GoaMiles has launched scholarships under the Balika Shakti Yojana for the daughters of r driver partners. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision, ensuring that girls have the necessary tools to build a brighter future. These scholarships are not just about financial support but also about providing opportunities for girls to dream bigger and have the resources to achieve those dreams.
GoaMiles also supports key national programs such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision. Through these schemes, GoaMiles reinforces the mission of educating girls and making them financially independent. By contributing INR 500 to Sukanya Samriddhi accounts for the daughters of its driver partners, GoaMiles ensures they grow into self-reliant women, capable of becoming job creators, not just job seekers.
