Governor of Goa, Shri. P. S. Sreedharan Pillai has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the festive occasion of Baisakhi.

In his message the Governor said, Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals of Sikh community which is celebrated with great pomp and extreme happiness. Baisakhi festival signifies the beginning of harvest season. It has also a profound religious significance, as it was on this day in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, laid the foundation of Panth Khalsa. This festival renews goodwill, friendship and fosters a feeling of togetherness among the people reflecting the strength of unity in diversity.

May this auspicious occasion of Baisakhi bring renewed joy, peace and prosperity to the people of Goa, he concluded.
