Panaji: Governor P S Shreedharan Pillai felicitated the NCC Cadets from Goa and Karnataka who participated in the Republic Day Contingent 2023 at an ‘At Home’ function at the Durbar Hall (old) at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday..

The Governor emphasizing the importance of NCC Cadets in building the nation’s identity and progress stated that the future of the family depends on the youth, and it is essential to instil in them the values of dharma and tradition. He congratulated the cadets and urged them to continue working with the single aspiration of becoming good citizens with unity and discipline.

Air Commodore BS Kanwar, VSM, DDG, NCC Directorate Kar & Goa, Bangalore, highlighted the crucial role played by NCC Cadets in shaping the future of the nation. He praised the cadets for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to building a better India. Goa has 3 Units and 7 thousand Cadets, he informed.

The felicitation ceremony recognized the outstanding performance of the NCC Cadets from Goa Girls BN NCC, Goa BN NCC, and 1 Goa NU NCC cadets out of which Shamsundar Mahale, Aditya Joshi and Vijaylaxmi Kamtar were part of the Republic Day Contingent 2023. Cadets who were part of Republic Day Contingent 2023 also shared their experience at the function.

The function was attended by Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, VSM, Flag Officer Goa Naval Area (FOGA), Col K Srinivas, Group Commander, NCC Gp HQ Belgavi, Commodore Sanjay Panda, CO Mandovi, Shri Jaspal Singh, DGP, Goa Police, Other higher authorities, Principals, and Parents.

The function was welcomed and concluded with a vote of thanks from Col MKS Rathore,CO, 1 Goa Bn NCC Panaji.
