Blood donation has now been made easy as both North and South district hospitals of Goa as their blood bank has got a blood collection cum transportation vehicle each under NRHM program.
It is an air-conditioned vehicle with cutting-edge equipment to collect blood from the donors and keep it safe. Two donors can donate blood simultaneously in the van. It has two refrigerators exclusively to store the blood received from donors. Two nurses and counsellors each will be deployed during blood collection.
The voluntary blood donation process will become easy. The mobile vehicle can be parked at convenient spots and then it can be used to collect blood from donors. Earlier, the staff members had to make a lot of preparations like arranging beds, cots, and carrying equipment to the camps conducted at community halls, colleges and educational institutions, which was cumbersome.
