
MARGAO: In a bid to promote community well-being, Imperial Multi-Speciality Hospital collaborated with the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise to organize a Liver Health Camp on March 12th. The camp aimed to raise awareness about liver health and provide complimentary screenings, witnessing an overwhelming response with 65 patients benefiting from the initiative.
The camp featured a team of expert medical professionals, led by Dr Milind Desai, who provided their expertise and support to ensure the success of the initiative. The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technology, including the FibroScan machine, enabled the team to conduct non-invasive liver stiffness assessments.
“Recently, the government of India’s Ministry of Health started a campaign for an obesity-free India. In line with this, Imperial Hospital, Margao, organized a Liver Assessment Camp to diagnose and manage fatty liver, which is a sign of obesity and its related complications,” stated Dr Milind Desai, MD of Imperial Hospital, Margao.
Representing the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise at the camp were Sharon Dias, Club President; Connie D’Cruz, Community Service Director; Joana Dias, TRF Chair; and Charmaine Rodrigues. The club’s participation underscored its commitment to community service and its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote health and well-being.
The Liver Health Camp was a resounding success, with a total of 75 people attending the event, including 65 patients and 10 staff members. The initiative not only provided complimentary screenings but also raised awareness about the importance of liver health and the need for regular check-ups.
