Vidhya Vruddhi School celebrated Independence Day on Thursday, 15th August 2024. Flag hosting held at 8:00 AM in the school premises. The event was attended by the Chairman of Vidhya Vruddhi Saunstha, Mr. Uday Dangui, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Rukmi Dangui, PTA Chairman, Mr. Sanket Mule, Vice Chairman, Mrs. Shweta Naik, Secretary, Mrs. Jesphin D’Souza, VVS member, Mr. Umesh Gaunekar, and other PTA members. The program was compered by students Aaditya Joshi and Avni Gaude,

The celebration began with a welcome speech by Prateeksh Shetty (Std. IX A). The flag hoisting ceremony was managed by Tr. Bedinee Naik, with the national flag being hoisted by Mr. Uday Dangui. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all students, accompanied by patriotic slogans.

Anjali Naik (IX A), Mridini Adigara (IX B), and Gaurang Parab (VIII B) delivered speeches on Independence Day in different languages. Additionally, Miss Mansi Kumari recited a poem. Mr. Uday Dangui and Mr. Umesh Gaunekar also addressed the students, highlighting the significance of the day. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Rukmi Dangui.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, Vidhya Vruddhi School organized the Ponda Taluka high school Level National Integration Group Singing Competition in memory of the late Shri Vaikuntrao Shrinivas Dempo. The program was compered by Tr. Linita Khanolkar and Tr. Fabina Lobo. The inaugural function was attended by Mrs. Akshaya Dempo, Chairman of VVS, Mr. Uday Dangui, Headmistress, Mrs. Rukmi Dangui, PTA Chairman, Mr. Sanket Naik Mule, Mast. Dhruv Ramnatkar, Secretary of the Ex-Students Committee, and the judges, Mr. Vinay Vishu Borkar, Mr. Sairaj Uday Kerkar, and Dr. Sulaxana Ramlal.

The program began with a welcome speech by Tr. Shefali Sadhale, followed by the presentation of eco-friendly pots to all dignitaries. Mrs. Akshaya Dempo garlanded the portrait of Late Shri Vaikuntrao Dempo, followed by the lighting of the lamp. The All Goa Photography Competition’s Photo Fest 2K24 was inaugurated by Mrs. Akshaya Dempo with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Tr. Anupama gave the vote of thanks, after which the National Integration Group Singing Competition commenced, featuring participation from 12 schools.

The concluding program was compered by Mr. Umesh Gaunekar. The Chief Guest for the function was Shri Rajendra Desai, a senior journalist and consultant for the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The Guest of Honour, Shri Rajesh Dempo, along with Mr. Vilas Ranganath Naik and Shri Yatish Dempo, also attended the event. Tr. Delia Diniz welcomed all the dignitaries, followed by the felicitation of Ex-Serviceman and Naib Subedar Shri Vishnu M. Surve. The introduction of the Chief Guest was done by Tr. Sneha Naik, and Tr. Swali Dabholkar introduced Shri Vishnu Surve. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Tr. Renju Rajan.

The judges for the photography competition were Mr. Gandhar D. Gawas, Mr. Abhay Joshi, Mr. Neelesh Naik, and Mr. Kaushal Sawant. As a token of appreciation, momentos were presented to all judges. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
