  3. IPSCDL COMPLETES SEWERAGE NETWORK UPGRADATION IN PANAJI CITY AHEAD OF HIGH COURT’S DEADLINE

PANAJI:  Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL) has successfully completed the interconnection of Panaji City’s sewerage network ahead of the High Court of Bombay at Goa – mandated deadline of 25th January 2025. This major infrastructure project involved the provision of laying, testing and commissioning of a state-of-the-art sewerage network using trenchless technology. IPSCDL recommenced the sewerage work post-monsoon, which also included the construction of six additional manholes at critical locations to enhance maintenance and operational efficiency.

The project featured 15 strategically placed interconnections to ensure seamless integration and improved functionality of the sewerage system. These interconnections were executed at depths ranging from 2.1 to 4 meters and lengths varying between 3 and 12 meters, demonstrating precision planning and engineering.

•             Cunha Rivera Road (Near Vinanti)

•             MG Road (Near Vinanti)

•             Café Bhonsle Road (Near Samsonite)

•             Opposite Delhi Darbar (Interconnection 1)

•             Opposite Delhi Darbar (Interconnection 2)

•             MG Road (Near Azad Maidan)

•             Dr Shivgaonkar Road (Near UCO Bank) – Interconnection 1

•             Dr Shivgaonkar Road (Near UCO Bank) – Interconnection 2

•             Dr Wolfgango Silva Road (Near Vishal Mega Mart)

•             General Costa Alvares Road (Near Alfran Plaza)

•             Governador Pestana Road (Opposite Don Bosco)

•             Governador Pestana Road (Opposite Muthoot Finance)

•             18th June Road (Near Church)

To further strengthen the system and improve maintenance access, six additional manholes were constructed at critical locations:

•             Near Don Bosco, Governador Pestana Road

•             Near Alfran Plaza, Governador Pestana Road

•             Near UCO Bank, Dr Shivgaonkar Road

•             Near Delhi Darbar, MG Road

•             Near Peter England, Dr. RS Road

•             Near Old Secretariat, MG Road

Each interconnection and manhole was designed to optimize sewage flow and ensure the long-term sustainability and reliability of the system.

Highlighting the importance of this milestone, a senior official from IPSCDL said, “Completing the interconnection of Panaji’s sewerage network ahead of the deadline is a testament to our commitment to excellence and efficiency. This project not only enhances the city’s sanitation infrastructure but also reinforces our dedication to improving the quality of life for Panaji’s residents while adopting eco-friendly and modern solutions.”

This achievement marks a significant step forward in modernizing Panaji’s infrastructure under the Smart City initiative, contributing to better sanitation, improved public health and overall urban development.
