-UNIVEINTER-UNIVERSITY WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP
PANAJI: Iram Irshad Khatri from VM Salgaocar College of Law has made history by becoming the first woman from Goa University to secure the 8th position at the South West Zone Inter-University Weightlifting Championship 2024-2025, which took place at Acharya Nagarjuna University from November 26th to 28th, 2024.
This achievement qualifies her for the All India University Women’s Weightlifting Championship 2024-2025, scheduled to be held in Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh.
Competing against 26 athletes from across the South-West zone, she successfully placed among the top eight competitors. Notably, she was the sole athlete to qualify during the Goa University Team Trials for the South-West Zone, conducted on October 21st, 2024.
