JIT AROLKAR JOINS M G PARTY

PERNEM: Social worker Jit Arolkar of Mandrem on Monday joined M G Party even as the government authorities denied him permission to hold a meeting at Sapteshewar Bhagvati Temple, at Mandrem.

As the authorities and police denied them permission due to COVID protocol, the MG Party workers organized the programme near the temple in the presence of former Deputy Chief Minister and party MLA Sudin Dhavalikar, Dr Ketan Bhatikar, Shridhar Mandrekar and others.

Besides, Arolkar, others who joined the oldest regional party were Mandrem sarpanch Ambrose Fernandes, panchayat members Subhash Asolkar and Ashmita Mandrekar, Terekhol panchayat member Agnel Fernandes, Arambol panchayat member Gunaji Thakur, Tuem panchayat member Kishor Naik, Luis Fernandes, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhavalikar alleged that the government was harassing political opponents by using its machinery. He demanded that the government should hold deferred Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections by December 10, or cancel the elections and start the entire process afresh.

Arolkar said that the government was scared of his growing popularity in Mandrem constituency and was using government machinery and police to harass him. He said that the alleged forgery complaint filed against him was subjudice.

Arolkar expressed confidence that MGP will win both Mandrem and Pernem Assembly seats at the next elections.

Later, they marched near Mandrem panchayat and paid tribute to Goa’s first Chief Minister Bhausaheb Bandodkar.
