AFREEN SHAH, WHO WAS FATALLY STRUCK BY BEST BUS.

MUMBAI: Afreen Shah, a 19-year-old resident of Kurla, Mumbai, began her first day at a private company with excitement and aspirations for her professional journey. Tragically, it turned out to be the last day of her life. While walking home from Kurla railway station, unable to find an empty autorickshaw, she was fatally struck by a accident of BEST bus Kurla.

Last Call From Her Mobile: After completing her first day at work, Afreen reached Kurla station but didn’t get any auto to take her home. She called her father, asking if a family member could pick her up. However, no one was free to pick her up at that moment, and her father suggested she walk home. Shortly after, tragedy struck which took her life.

According to a report, her family member said someone found her phone at the accident spot and dialled the last number, which was her father’s. They immediately rushed to the hospital. After reaching there, we learned that she had passed away.

Kurla Bus Accident Mishap: Afreen wasn’t the only victim of this horrifying accident. The bus claimed the lives of several others, leaving behind grieving families. Shivam, an 18-year-old college student, had stepped out of his father’s shop for a quick snack when the bus struck him fatally. Vijay Gaikwad, 70, a retired railway employee, was out to get photocopies of documents when he lost his life. 

Anam Muzzafar Shaikh, a 20-year-old aspiring baker, was riding pillion on her father’s two-wheeler when the bus hit them. Anam lost her life, while her father is critically injured and fighting for survival in a private hospital. Islam Ansari, 49, a driver and father of four, and Farooq Chaudhary, 56, were also killed in the crash.

The tragic accident has left the people from Kurla in shock. Afreen’s family, like the others affected, is struggling to come to terms with the loss. 

The CCTV footage of the BEST bus that mowed down seven persons in Mumbai’s Kurla area shows driver Sanjay More collecting two backpacks from the cabin and jumping out of a broken window after the accident.

Four to five video clips with a duration of 50 seconds to over 1 minute went viral on social media on Wednesday.
