I welcome the passing of the Constitution 128th Amendment Bill 2023 Women Reservation Bill with a hope that it will be implemented at the earliest. Empowering women has always remained a priority for Congress Party.
Requirement of fresh delimitation to commence after first report of new Census means Women Reservation Bill may become effective in 2032 Goa Assembly Elections. If process gets completed fast, Reservations for Lok Sabha possible in 2029 or will have to wait for 2034 elections.
It’s not action but the intention behind it that makes it good or bad. A gift consists not in what is given but in the intention of giver. It appears that Women Reservation Bill brought by BJP Government is colossal betrayal of Hopes of Million Indian Women, Girls & OBC.
