Rohan Khaunte was speaking after inspecting Morjim Khind Garden after media reports highlighted concerns over the condition of the garden along with Mandrem ML Jeet Arolkar, Mandrem sarpanch Pawan Morje, GTDC Project Cell executive engineer M P Balan, GTDC Project Cell executive engineer (electrical) Vishad Pole, GTDC manager Prasad Kavlekar, GTDC Project Cell (Civil) assistant engineer Deepti Tembkar, GTDC Project Cell technical assistant Pankaj Raut and representative of Magna Amusement & Leisure.
Rohan Khaunte stated “It is disheartening to see a project of this scale fall short of its intended purpose. Our priority is to ensure that Morjim Khind Garden is transformed into a vibrant public space that reflects Goa’s commitment to high standards of tourism infrastructure. We will not compromise on the quality and experience we deliver to both our locals and visitors and we expect the operator to take swift action to make this vision a reality by the end of this month.”
The representative of Magna Amusement & Leisure assured the Tourism Minister that the required maintenance work would be taken up on priority, with a target to make the garden operational by October 31.
The Minister further instructed GTDC officials to secure a commitment letter from the operator, confirming their intention to complete the maintenance work by the specified deadline. Additionally, GTDC officials were directed to submit a compliance report on the progress of the work.
