Mapusa Police Station recently arrested one Mr. Sumeer Sharma n/o Punjab who was suspected to be involved in number of cases of house breaking theft. Accordingly a special team was formed by SDPO Shri. Jivba Dalvi consisting Police Inspector Shitakant Nayak, Police Inspector Vijay Rane, PSI Yashwant Mandrekar and PSI Bablo Parab who thoroughly interrogated the accused and got breakthrough in two theft cases.

First case which was registered on 06.06.2023 at Mapusa police Station upon the complaint of Mr. Chandrabhan Singh r/o Canca, Bardez, North Goa, wherein he had complained that some unknown accused person had effected entry into complainants residential flat by breakthrough opening the main entrance door which was latched and decamped with 1) Gold, 2) silver ornaments worth rs 7,00,000and cash . On thorough interrogation, police have recovered Earrings, Gold Chains all worth Rs. 4,59,000/-.

During further interrogation accused also confessed of having committing house breaking theft at Colvale which was registered on 17.02.2023 at Colvale Police Station upon the complaint of Mr. Ashsih Bandekar r/o Thivim, Bardez, North Goa, Goa, complaining that unknown accused person effected entry in the house of the complainant by breakthrough opening the main door and committed the theft of Gold Ornaments worth Rs. 5,50,000/-. Accordingly Police have also been successful in recovering gold bangles and gold earrings from the instants of accused person worth Rs. 3,20,000/-. The recovery was done by Mapusa police at instant of accused from the Jewellery Shop worth rupees 7,50,000/-

Police also recovered one Fasicno scooter bearing No. GA 03 AQ 6556 which was used for committing crime and to move at different locations. Shri Jivba Dalvi further informed that the modus operandi of accused, is to move alone in the residential area in day time and target locked flats. A team of a Mapusa Police is also leaving for Delhi for further recovery. The investigation is in progress under the supervision of SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS
