Efficiency of Government stands exposed with this response from Dy.SP (Traffic) on 29/01/25 to my Representation dated 12/08/24. Margao continues to face chaos endangering lives of citizens, with haphazard heavy vehicle movement, massive traffic jams & mess of parking system. Will defector Margao MLA Digambar Kamat speak? questioned Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
In a press statement issued in response to the copy of letter received from Deputy Superitendent of Police (Traffic), Prabhav Naik slammed Margao MLA Digambar Kamat for being a blind spectator to hardships of citizens.
I had urged in my Memorandum written to South Goa Collector on 12th August 2024 to take steps to shift Schools from Margao City to Davorlim Educational Hub. I had also appealed to the authorities to take up Demarcation of Parking Areas, Notify City Bus Stops and make optimum utilization of Old Bus Stand. All these points are highlighted by Dy.SP Traffic in his response to Deputy Collector, pointed Prabhav Naik.
This shows that nothing has happened in last five months. Margao MLA Digambar Kamat claims of creating South Goa Collectorate Complex. But, reply from Dy.SP Traffic clearly states that most of the Administrative Offices still exist in Margao City. This exposes the fact that either the South Goa Collectorate Complex is under utilised or was haphazardly designed, stated Prabhav Naik.
It is actually the responsibility of the elected representative to take cognizance of the hardships faced by Citizens. Unfortunately, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat who draws salary and enjoys perks and facilities from government has his focus only on promoting nepotism. I feel sad to see his negligence on core issues of Margao, said Prabhav Naik.
I once again urge the Collector of South Goa to take immediate steps in resolving the long pending issues faced by Margao Citizens. I also appeal to Margao MLA Digambar Kamat to either act or admit his incompetence in resolving the issues. Madganvcho Awaaz will continue to raise these issues and will not hesitate to come on roads, warned Prabhav Naik.
