CANSAULIM: In commemoration of the 76th birth anniversary of late Matanhy Saldanha, Goencho Raponkaracho Ekvott (GRE) and South Goa Member of Parliament Captain Viriato Fernandes voiced strong criticism against the BJP government’s environmental policies and its disregard for the fishing community in Goa.
They underscored the extensive damage to natural ecosystems and the detrimental impact on traditional fishing livelihoods.
During the garlanding ceremony held at Cansaulim Market Circle, both organizations reaffirmed their dedication to preserving Goa’s environment and coastal heritage, advocating for enhanced accountability and sustainable development initiatives to protect the interests of the state’s fishermen.
