MEDE VISION GOA AND AKHIL BHARATIYA VIDYARTHI PARISHAD (ABVP) GOA ORGANISED ‘NISWARTH SEVA’ TO APPRECIATE THE STUDENTS OF GOA MEDICAL COLLEGE (GMC)

PANAJI: MeDe Vision Goa and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Goa in collaboration with Arogya Bharati and Vidhyarthi Nidhi Goa organised ‘Niswarth Seva’ programme in Panaji. A program to appreciate the students of Goa Medical College (GMC) for their selfless service and good deeds towards the society during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant was the chief guest. He later felicitated the GMC atudents for their voluntary services and decreasing workload of health care workers. Sawant mentioned that Goa stands number one in terms of testing of COVID-19 and reminded us to always wear a mask and he also appreciated the ABVP Goa karyakartas for conducting this programme as he said the student wings are always involved in students welfare and take part in protest.

Guest of honour GMC Dean Dr. Shivanand Bandekar mentioned the efforts of the students of GMC and appreciated them for coming forward to help the medical staff in the difficult times of pandemic. He later even mentioned that the pandemic is not yet over if not followed the norms of social distancing and sanitization the situation can be out of control.

Special invitee ABVP national executive committee memberDr Varadraj Bapat appreciated all the ABVP Goa karyakarta’s for organising such a great programme and motivated the karyakartas to keep up the good work. OTist Association Goa branch convenor Dr Mahera Kantawalla said the efforts of the students have helped the medical staff a lot in the difficult times and programmes like this will uplift them.

MeDe Vision Konkan region convenor Dhanashree Mandrekar spoke about (MeDe SCOPE) Webinar which will be organized from 11th to 15th November by MeDe Vision and ABVP Goa in which highly experienced doctors will talk about some important aspects like mental health in COVID-19 and other important topics, especially for medical students.
