PANAJI: The schools observe December 9 and 10 as ‘Mega APPAR Diwas’ is a focused initiative to achieve complete saturation of APPAR ID creation and validation to ensure complete coverage of APPAR ID issuance.
The Directorate of Education is taking proactive steps to implement the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID system for all students in the state. APAAR ID is a unique, lifelong 12-digit identifier designed to facilitate targeted interventions, improve school enrollments, and seamlessly manage academic records. To accelerate the APAAR ID generation process, the Department has designated December 9 and 10 as ‘Mega APAAR Diwas’.
During these days, all schools will focus on updating student records on the UDISE portal and generating APAAR IDs. Furthermore, the 9th and 10th of every month will be designated as Mega APAAR Diwas (in case of holidays, the subsequent working days shall be observed)].
The Goa Education Department has urged all parents and students to cooperate with their respective schools in completing the APAAR ID registration process. The Department is committed to ensuring that all students in Goa benefit from this transformative initiative.
APAAR ID, a key initiative under the ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ program, is a unique 12-digit code that allows students to digitally store, manage, and access their academic credits, including degrees, diplomas, certificates, training details, and co-curricular accomplishments. This system will also allow students to access the DigiLocker ecosystem, where they can digitally store all their achievements, including exam results and holistic report cards. Students can use the credit score for higher education or employment purposes in the future.
The APAAR ID system will enable the Education Department to track student progress and identify those who need additional support. With APAAR ID, students will have a single, secure platform to store and access their academic records. APAAR ID will simplify tasks like admissions and organize crucial student information for enhanced academic management
To ensure the smooth rollout of APAAR ID, the Education Department has undertaken several measures, including instructing Schools to hold Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) or School Management Committee (SMC) meetings to obtain parental consent for APAAR ID registration. The department has also prepared a set of videos in Konkani language on the benefits of APAAR ID.
