Shiroda MLA and WRD Minister Subash Shirdkar ( centre) giving details about sterilization campaign
In order to control stray dog and also pet dog population in Shiroda constituency, NGO Mission Rabies in coordination with Goa government will conduct free registration, vaccination and sterilization campaign from October. This was informed by Shiroda MLA and WRD Minister Subash Shirdkar during press conference ad in the presence of Mission Rabies Director Dr Murugun, Shiroda Sarpanch Mughdah Shirodkar and Dr Gauri Shirodkar.
During the special campaign, there will be free micro chipping of pet dogs will be held which will help to identify if dog is lost, said Shirodkar.
Dr Murugun, Director of Mission Rabies said although Goa is declared as rabies free however incursion of virus from endemic border state is a real threat so this special campaign is being organized for the benefit of the pet owners in Shiroda constituency.
Details of campaign are awareness on dog management and population control at Shiroda primary health centre on October 19, Panchavadi village panchayat on October 22, Shiroda Veterinary Dispensary on October 22, Diogas Chapel, Panchavadi on October 24, Codar Village on October 24, Betora Panchayat on October 24 and Borim Panchayat on October 24.
