
ANJUNA: Anjuna Police conducted raid on a flat and apprehended twelve individuals from Rajasthan and Gujarat, who were involved in online betting activities in Assagao. The operation took place at Flat No. 303, D Block, Royal Assagao Resort, following the receipt of specific and credible information regarding an online gambling syndicate.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Asalam Mohammad, a resident of Lamba Khari Ka, Bhilwara, Rajasthan; Mohmed Hussain, 23, from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Vaseem Mohammad, 23, also from Udaipur Daroli, Rajasthan; Ayan Ali Bukhari, 19, from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Mohammad Afzal Khan Sorgar, 25, from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Mohammed Inayat Shah, 23, from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Sharafat Khan Bhishti, 24, from Kapasan, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Azaan Irfan Nagori, 20, from Rahimpura, Gujarat; Vahora Mohammad Abdulkarim, 24, from Rolling Mill, Bhalej Road, Gujarat; Vahoram Salimbhai, 26, from Holi Chakla, Alarsa, Anand, Gujarat; Mehon Alfaz Abdulrasid, 24, from Pethapur, Gandhinagar, Gujarat; and Pathan Dilshan Khan, 28, from Baroda, Gujarat.
During the operation, authorities confiscated online transaction records totaling Rs 3,50,000, along with seven laptops, eight mobile phones of various brands, and other items related to gambling activities. A case has been filed at Anjuna Police Station under Sections 3 and 4 of the Goa, Daman & Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976. (EDITED BY SURESH VADAVADEKAR)
