KUTCH: Keeping with his annual tradition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with Indian security forces, this time with BSF personnel in the Lakki Nala area of Kachchh, close to the Indo-Pakistan border.
Dressed in uniform, PM Modi joined the soldiers stationed in this sensitive region for the festival of lights, sharing a meal and offering sweets.
Lakki Nala, near Sir Creek, has long been a flashpoint between India and Pakistan, often witnessing infiltration and smuggling attempts from across the border.
During his address, PM Modi emphasized, “Bharat cannot compromise on even an inch of its borders. We trust our soldiers’ resolve, not the words of our enemies.” Since 2014, he has spent Diwali with soldiers in challenging areas from Siachen to Kargil, showing solidarity with those safeguarding the nation. On the Line of Actual Control (LAC), Indian and Chinese troops exchanged Diwali sweets at five locations, symbolizing a hopeful gesture of goodwill after recent disengagement efforts in the Ladakh region.
Diwali celebrations across borders underscore India’s commitment to honoring its protectors, and this year’s festival highlights the nation’s deep appreciation for their sacrifices.
