POWER MINISTER NILESH CABRAL SAYS DEBATE ON ELECTRICITY MODEL WILL TAKE PLACE ON NOVEMBER 25

PANAJI: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Monday said that the debate on Goa’s electricity model will take place at EDC hall on  Wednesday, November 25 from 4 pm onwards.

Cabral said he will engage anyone in a one-to-one debate (not a free for all) in front of the media.

Cabral also asked Director of Goa Foundation Dr Claude Alvares to apologise to the people of Goa for declaring that what was found at Kerim beach was coal.

According to Cabral, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has found that it is charcoal and not coal. In two days time they will establish its chemical composition and declare to the public, he said.

Environment Minister Nilesh cabral shows polythene bags containing charcoal found on Goa’s beaches. Enviromentalists had claimed that coal had washed ashore.

What was found at Benaulim beach also is charcoal, Cabral declared.
