Boosting all round growth and development of the Goa, Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi today inaugurated National Institute of Technology (NIT Goa Campus) Cuncolim, National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS) Goa Campus, Dona Paula, Integrated Waste Management Facility, Curchorem virtually at Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme held at KTC, Margao.

Prime Minister also virtually laid foundation stone for the project of Passenger Rope way alongwith allied tourism activities between Panaji and Reis Magos fort and 100 MLD Water treatment Plant, Xelpem, Salaulim.

Extending his support towards infrastructural development of the State Shri. Narendra Modi said Tourism sector in Goa is setting new goals wherein it is becoming global destination for the international events and conferences such as G20 meetings, Sports events etc. thereby achieving global recognition for its hospitality.

Shri. Modi further maintained that Goa is also emerging as a logistics hub, exploring various types of employments for the youth attributing economic growth of the State. He expressed that the newly inaugurated projects such as NIT Campus and other projects will certainly promote speedy growth of Goa.

Appreciating social and communal harmony in the State, PM Modi said that Goa has achieved 100 percent saturation in many prominent central welfare schemes. Saturation of schemes ends all discrimination when benefits reach out to the deserving people, thus Saturation is true secularism, social justice to people and this saturation is Modi’s guarantee to Goa, he added.

Prime Minister further informed Government intentions to enhance the business activities in the sector of fisheries exploring new employment avenues for Goan people.

Shri. Modi lauded the State Government as it is able to provide 100 percent electricity connection, water supply and other basic amenities to the people.

Prime Minister also distributed 1930 appointment orders to newly inducted Goa Government recruits.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant speaking on the occasion said that his Government follows the principle of Antodaya (reaching the last person). Hence it has implemented various initiatives and projects promoting the idea of inclusive Goa.

We are proud to inaugurate National Institute of Water Sports Campus, Dona Paula and other projects as these projects will certainly expedite the growth of the State. CM said.

CM also informed the gathering about progress attained in various sectors by the Government and it’s impact on people for betterment of the State in last ten years.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shri. Modi reviewed the stalls at exhibition set up by various Departments showcasing the rich art and culture of Goa also dipicting remarkable achievements of the State. Exhibition consisting stalls set up by the Department of Tourism, NIT Campus, Cuncolim, Handicrafts Department, ICAR, Naval WaR College etc will be open for the general public till February 7, 2024.

Prime Minister also presented sanction letters to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
Governor of Goa Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai was present on the occasion.

Union Minister of State for Tourism, Shri. Shripad Naik reiterated Union Government is committed towards economical and industrial growth of Goa.

Minister for Health Shri. Vishwajeet Rane said that PM Shri. Modi has extended all his support for the all round development of Goa.

Minister for Law and Judiciary Shri. Aleixo Sequeira stated that Goa has achieved tremendous development under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.

Minister for Panchayat Shri. Mauvin Godinho, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha)Shri. Sadanand Tanavade and MLA, Margao Shri. Digamber Kamat also spoke on the occasion.

The programme was attended by Council of Ministers, MLAs, Ex Ministers, prominent personalities and Senior Government Officers and others
