Renowned poet and lyricist Shri John Aguiar has lauded the efforts of the Lokshikshan High School Dhargal for organising inter- Pernem Taluka level Patriotic Group Singing Competition every year. He said that Patriotic singing is beneficial for students as it not only develops their aesthetic sense, but is also the key to creativity. It plays an important role in the education of a child by providing them an opportunity of self- expression. It also connects them to the past freedom struggle and the sacrifices by our great leaders for the country.
Shri Aguiar was Speaking as the Chief Guest on the occasion today.
In the group singing competition Kamleshwar High School, Deulwada, Korgao bagged the first place, Government High School, Ozari bagged the second place, Harmalpanchkroshi High School, Harmal bagged the third place, Peter Alvares Memorial High School, Morjim bagged the fourth place and Kamleshwar High School Pathechawada, Korgao bagged the fifth place respectively. In all 11 schools from Pernem taluka participated.
Vice Chairman of the Shikshan Saunsta Shri Prakash Dhumal, Sarpan of V.P. Dhargal Shri Arjun Kanolkar, PTA Chairman Shri Siddesh Dhargalkar, Headmistress Jasmini Mandrekar were present.
Mr. Suvishant Vinayak Bordekar and Mr.Sunil Rohidas Divkar were judged the competition.
Shri Aguiar said to serve the country or to become a patriot you don’t need to join defence forces but there are various other ways by which one can serve the country. For example, if u are an Government officer or a policeman or if u have any government job….If you do your work properly,without corruption… u are serving your Nation. Even if you are big businessman…instead of misusing your money…you can help the poor people around you by reducing poverty in your nation and serving your country.
But one cannot deny that Serving your country in the defence services , Fighting for your motherland and Having your funeral wrapped in Tiranga is one of the Greatest things that one can achieve as an INDIAN. Patriotism does not only mean going on the warfront and fighting against the enemies on the border. Keeping your surroundings, neighbourhoods, villages and slums clean is also a form of patriotism Shri Aguiar said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Lokshikshan Education Society, Shri Prakash Dhumal said that the school has been undertaking this initiative to instill a sense of patriotism and discipline among the students. He said such competitions help students to connect with the national spirit.
Earlier the Headmistress of the School Jasmini Mandrekar welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest.
