Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday said that he had successfully raised many public grievances and issues in the assembly session and that he was confident that many issues would soon be resolved giving benefits to all the people of Mornugao constituency
Amonkar was speaking to reporters after organising a tree plantation drive along the Sada highway as part of Vanamahotsava celebration in association with Goa Forest department and Gammon India
” I have raised issues which I am confident will be fulfilled with the support of the Government. I have raised the issue of Mormugao Fort and we will have a joint meeting on Monday to discuss on the fort. I took the issue of non functional issue of Ravindra Bhavan and the matter has been resolved where in contractor has given a bank guarantee and PWD will issue him the work order. I then raised the issue of Library because mormugao is the only Taluka where there is no library and inspection is held wherein by the next month end we may have a library. We have also hit WRD to inspect Baina bay and we have resolved the fishermen issue while the Baina Outpost will also become a reality after I raised the issue of shortage of staff at Mormugao Police station. We will also get additional staff for the Swimming pool and shortage of workers in the electricity department and this issue will also be resolved besides which , we will also have beautification of Baina Beach and get toilet and other facilities at Baina Beach ” said MLA Amonkar
Amonkar said that the Highway connecting Sada had a beautiful over bridge overlooking the Arabian sea that has turned into a tourist spot ” We then decided to plant flowering trees along the dividers and either side of the highway and spoke to the Forest department and Gammon India. We have requested people not to remove these trees and we will give one plant to every individual in Sada who will plant these trees and take care of the plants grown by them. ” Said MLA Amonkar
