TRUCK OVERTURNS NEAR SHARP TURN AT DHAVLI BYPASS
SHARP TURN AT DHAVLI-FARMAGUDI BYPASS
PONDA: A truck driver sustained injuries after his vehicle overturned near a sharp turn on the flyover at the Dhavli-Farmagudi bypass shortly after midnight on Saturday. The incident occurred when the driver of a Maharashtra-registered truck lost control while navigating the sharp turn in a location known for frequent accidents. The truck was en route from Mumbai, transporting raw materials to the Nestle plant in Usgao.
In response to the recurring accidents, local residents have attributed the issue to the national highway authorities, citing inadequate planning during the road’s construction. They have called for a permanent solution to prevent further incidents in this dangerous area.
Social worker Surely Tilve has urged for immediate improvements to the sharp turn to avert potential tragedies, especially given the daily passage of tankers carrying petrol and gas through this location.
