Sachin Gaude was elested as the new sarpanch of Cumbharjua panchayat on Sunday.
Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board and Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai along with other panch members Sudhir Phadte, Nandakumar Shet, Vrinda Joshi and Surendra Naik were present.
Faldessai said that Gaude was elected as sarpanch owing to a previous commitment.
“It was a previous commitment to make Sachin Gaude the sarpanch. So accordingly, Nandakumar Shet resigned from the post. He has done a lot of good work. Gaude too will perform in a similar way. I will support him in every way. All the panch members are united and a lot of development is planned to be taken up in the village,” he said.
Gaude, who has been elected Sarpanch for a second time, thanked the MLA and panch members for their support.
“I thank all the panch members for electing me as sarpanch. I also thank my voters in the ward for electing me and supporting me. I also thank our MLA for his wholehearted support. We have seen a lot of work undertaken by him in the past 2 years,” he said.
