STACKED TEAKWOOD SEIZED IN MOLLEM WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

PONDA: A team led by Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Paresh Parab, Mollem RFO Siddesh Naik and team of forest guards conducted raid at two places in Mollem forest and wildlife sanctuary and seized logs of teakwood valued at Rs 4 lakh

They have also arrested one persons from Kalay in this connection.

ACF Paresh Parab said the team of forest department kept a strict vigil in forest area after they learnt that teak trees were cut and stacked at one place in the forest. When the accused came to transport the teakwood the forest officials conducted a raid and nabbed him.

According to Parab, in the past took they had conducted a raid and seized teak wood in Mollem forest. More arrests are in the offing, he said.
