TAG CONDOLES THE DEATH OF TWO VETERAN ARTISTES

PANAJI: The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) has condoled the death of two veteran tiatr artistes – comedian Romaldo D’Souza and musician Filipe Antonio Mascarenhas

Romaldo D’Souza popularly known as Paul Romy was a legend on the Konkani stage, passed away 13th November, at his residence in Andheri West, Mumbai. Born on 5th October 1976 at Anjuna-Vagator. A great comedian, writer, singer, director and producer, who is still remembered for his role in John Claros “Portuguez Kolvont”. He also acted in Konkani films “Bhuierantlo Monis” and was named as Jerry Lewis. He was facilitated by TAG in the “ Meet The Artist” programme in December 2013. He was also the recipient of State Cultural Award of Govteernment of Goa.

Filipe Antonio Mascarenhas popularly known as Felipe De Sanvordem, was a great musician, arranger, conductor who played the Saxaphone in the tiatr field for several years. He passed away on 16th November at his residence at Sanvordem. He was born on 6th August 1942. He has contributed immensely for conducting & arranging music for video & audio songs.

On behalf of all the tiatr community and tiatr lovers, Tiatr Academy of Goa has deeply condoled the death of these talented artistes, and expressed heartfelt sympathies to their bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty may give their soul eternal peace.
