PANAJI: Under the banner of the ‘Cyber Surakshit Goem’ campaign, the Goa Police Cyber Crime Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Education, successfully trained around 450 high school computer teachers in cybercrime awareness during a four-day training program held at SCERT, Porvorim, from November 21-25, 2024.
Following this intensive training, these teachers have begun conducting cyber awareness sessions in their respective schools, reaching approximately 35,000-40,000 students across Goa. The sessions focus on educating students about emerging cyber threats, modus operandis, safe online practices, and preventive measures to avoid falling victim to cybercrimes.
Empowering Students and Society: The computer teachers, equipped with materials and knowledge shared during the training, have continued awareness sessions for students in school as per the intended objective. Teachers are also extending the reach of this awareness to parents, creating a ripple effect throughout society.
Objective and Impact: The training aimed to empower educators with up-to-date knowledge of cybercrime trends and equip them to act as key facilitators of cyber awareness. The program underscores Goa Police’s commitment to fostering a cyber-resilient society under the ‘Cyber Surakshit Goem’ campaign.
Goa Police extends its gratitude to the Department of Education, SCERT, and all participating teachers for their dedication and support in this collective effort.
