The International Yoga Day celebration at St Michael high school, Taleigao witnessed a memorable convergence of yoga and music, engaging participants in a holistic celebration of physical and mental wellness. The presence of Mrs. Anju Desai, a distinguished Yoga Instructor and Mr. Mukesh Sharma,Reporter for Bhangar Bhui added a unique touch to the event. The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony, graced by the presence of Mrs. Anju Desai and Mr. Mukesh Sharma along with the Headmistress Mrs Sabina Araujo,Asst Headmistress Mrs Poonam Pai & Asst Headmaster Mr Camilo Fernandes. The school principal delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the significance of International Yoga Day and the power of music in promoting well-being.
A talk on importance of Yoga day and Yogas in our lives was delivered by Miss Nikita Vishwakarma. Mrs. Anju Desai, a highly esteemed and experienced yoga practitioner, delivered a keynote address to the participants. She shared her insights on the holistic benefits of yoga, emphasising its positive impact on physical fitness, mental well-being, and stress management. Her expertise and words of wisdom inspired and and motivated everyone present.
A unique event organised by St Michael High School this year was DAWN To DUSK 6 to 6 Suryanamaskar performances by students. We had a group of talented students attempting to break the record for performing Suryanamaskars from dawn to dusk, a feat that required unwavering commitment and strength . These students had undergone rigorous training, honing their skills and pushing their limits in preparation for this awe-inspiring event.They embraced the physical and mental demands of Suryanamaskar, striving to achieve the perfect harmony between body and breath .From dawn until the sunset, we witnessed an exceptional display of skill, perseverance, and determination. The whole event was recorded and saved for the future purposes.
Prize Distribution ceremony was conducted wherein the various events held on yoga week from 17th to 20th June were awarded . These included handkerchief embroidery making, Mandela art painting, poster painting, bookmark making and inter house flower rangoli making competition. Teacher Shainaz Khan compered the programme while sir Basavraj proposed the vote of Thanks. The event provided a platform for students, faculty, and staff to experience the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.
