PARAGLIDING EQUIPMENT AT KERI

PERNEM: The Tourist Police seized paragliding equipment which was illegally used at Keri-Pernem on Thursday evening.

The tourist police conducted an operation at Keri Plateau at about 5 pm and found Raju Gawandi of Talewada-Pernem conducting paragliding activities at the location without permission from authorities. The paragliding equipment was confiscated and will be sent along with a detailed report to the tourism department for further necessary action.

Authorities have initiated strict measures to clamp down on illegal paragliding activities after a paragliding trip had ended in tragedy when a 26-year-old tourist from Pune and the paraglider pilot were killed at Keri-Pernem on January 18.
