Goa Police has arranged traffic diversions in Panjim in view of Race IRONKIDS Goa on October 7, 2023 and IRONMAN 70.3 India on October 8, 2023.

Due to the organisation of IRONKIDS Goa and IRONMAN 70.3 INDIA, the Goa Police along with the organising team Yoska have formulated the following plan for guidance of motorists, spectators, local residents and general public for the third edition of the Ironman 70.3 India to be held in Panaji.

To ensure smooth flow of traffic during the IRONKIDS GOA on October 7 and IRONMAN 70.3 India on October 8 following traffic diversion arrangements are made in Panjim.

Diversions for Ironman Race on October 8, 2023 is as follows :

Ribandar causeway from Ribandar Patto to Divja Circle will be closed for vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. on October 8, 2023 till the end of the race.

Riverside lane of the D.B. Marg from Divja Circle to Miramar Circle will be closed for general vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. till the end of the race.

Miramar Beachside lane (RHS) of the Dr Jack Sequeira road from Miramar circle to NIO Circle will be closed for vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. till the end of the race and similarly RHS lane from NIO circle till Hotel Crescent will be closed for vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. till the end of the race.

Only one lane i.e. LHS lane of road from NIO Circle to Raj Bhavan main gate will be for movement of vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. till the end of the race.

Car lane will be made available for the benefit of residents along D.B. Marg from the gate of Miramar residency upto Hotel Goa Marriott Resort lane. The vehicles will be allowed to move into the Hotel Goa Mariott resort lane and come out at Starbucks cafe junction, Campal and proceed to their destinations via the internal roads from Starbucks cafe junction/La Campala Colony road.

The vehicular traffic from Old Goa-Ribandar side proceeding towards Panaji will be diverted at Ribandar Patto towards Chimbel Junction to proceed to Panaji via Merces Junction/Atal Setu-Panaji down ramp. Likewise, the vehicular traffic from Panaji city desiring to proceed towards Ribandar will be diverted at Divja Circle to proceed via KTC Circle-Mala-St Cruz-Merces-Ribandar. The incoming vehicular traffic to Panaji city will be diverted at D.B. Marg at Panaji Ferry Wharf junction to proceed to their destination via M.G. Road.

The Vehicles proceeding from Caranzalem side will be diverted at Goa International Junction Tonca-Caculo Mall Junction-via St. Inez Junction 18 June road to exit Panaji city via Cortin-Old Patto Bridge or via Madhuban Circle-Bhatlem to exit the city.

The Vehicles proceeding from Old Goa bypass road/Merces towards Bambolim-Agassaim/Margao side will come upto Merces Circle and take compulsory left onto the service road along the NH66 towards Old Siridao road upto to Goa Velha Junction take left towards old Pilar road and proceed towards Agassaim Y Junction for onward journey.

The vehicles proceeding from Old Goa Merces Bypass (NH748) and intending to enter Panaji city or go towards Porvorim side will climb onto the Atal Setu up ramp (before Merces circle) and proceed to their respective destination via Atal Setu.

The LHS road of NH 66 from Merces circle to the starting point of new Zuari bridge flyover at Agassaim will be exclusively used for the event/race. Similarly the LHS road from Divja circle to Merces circle will be closed and used exclusively for the event/race.

Two way traffic will be allowed to ply on the RHS lane of NH 66 from KTC Circle up to the start of New Zuari Bridge (Agassaim side) on October 8, 2023 from 5.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Heavy vehicles coming from Porvorim side and desiring to proceed towards Margao/Vasco will take diversion at Merces Junction and proceed via Kadamba Bypass for their onward journey.

The entire route of the race shall be closed from 3.00 p.m. to till the race ends on October 8, 2023.

For IRONKIDS GOA race on October 7, 2023, the RHS lane (Beachside lane) from Miramar circle up to Hotel Vivanta Miramar will be closed for vehicular traffic from 3.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. and the LHS lane will be available for movement of two way traffic.

In case of emergency vehicles such as Ambulance, Fire bridges etc., they will be allowed to move unobstructed. The route buses will be diverted as per above plan. The event route and the diversion route will be no parking and no stopping zone for all types of vehicles.

All general public and spectators are appealed to cooperate with the Traffic Arrangement, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
