The purpose of a person being in Government service is to serve the position for what he is absorbed and provide people ease of living. The healthy working attitude of employees is required for discharging their duties in an effective way in the interest of the society, stated Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant after inaugurating the Induction Training Programme for Newly recruited Technical Assistants & Junior Engineers under Public Works Departments. The training programme was organized by the Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (GIPARD) at Porvorim today.

The ten day training was conducted from Feb 7 to Feb 17, 2024. The training programme saw participation of around 330 candidates who are selected for the posts of Technical Assistants & Junior Engineers. The objective of the training is to enable the trainees to understand and apply the provisions of Acts, rules and Regulations pertaining to administration and allied activities of Government Department /Institution. To enhance subject knowledge & skills of the trainees and provide clarity in the nature of work. The purpose of the training is also to develop a healthy working attitude at work among trainees.

The Chief Minister speaking further said the ten days training programme will infuse trained and skilled manpower in the state administration for future forty years. He advised the participants to discharge their responsibilities to make difference. Do not take Government jobs granted, Work sincerely, try to think out of the box wherever required so as to benefit the people. The dedication and honesty towards your duty will help you to reach higher position at workplace he reiterated.

The certificates of appreciation were given in recognition to their selfless efforts, complete dedication, sincerity, positive attitude, valuable inputs, skilful planning, swift implementation and great team spirit put in towards the entire Recruitment Process to fill the vacancies of Technical Assistants & Junior Engineers in Public Works Department .The officers who have received certificates at the hands of Chief Minister were Shri Prakash Redkar, Ms. Fiona Correia, Ms. Pallavi Bordekar, Ms. Sharon Saldanha, Shri Jitendra Adhipati, Ms. Flavia Lobo, Ms. Shruti Sane, Ms Siddhali Kamulkar, Ms Neha Bondre, Shri Sachin Shirodkar, Shri Kanta Shirodkar among others.

Principal Secretary Finance Dr. V. Candevelou, IAS, Principal Chief Engineer Shri Uttam Parsekar, Director (Training) GIPARD, Dr. Suresh Shanbhogue, Senior Officers from PWD, Asst. Director GIPARD Dr. Seema Fernandes, Course Director and Core Faculty in Public Administration GIPARD Ms Hegel Da Costa and others attended the function.
