PONDA: Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem panchayat body, villagers and farmers has decided to oppose proposed mega residential project coming up in the village at the meeting held on Sunday.
Speaking to media after opposing the project, Sarpanch Harsha Gaude said that the panchayat body decided not to grant NOC for the project as the same coming up in one lakh square metres, which includes orchard and settlement area wherein some farmers livelihood depending on the orchard land.
Farmers Association President Sanjeeva Cuncoienkar said that at present village population is around 1500 besides floating population of migrant workers and if this mega project will come then population will increase in the villager resulting on the load of natural resources such as water and electricity.
