TEL AVIV: “If the regime in Iran were to make the mistake of beginning a new round of escalation, we will be obligated to respond,” stated RAdm. Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), in a stern warning following a series of precise military strikes on Iranian targets. This decisive action came in the wake of Iran’s missile offensive on October 1, when approximately 200 ballistic missiles were launched at Israel, marking a significant escalation in the long-standing hostilities between the two nations.
Hagari confirmed that the IDF has concluded its military operations aimed at neutralising immediate threats posed by Iran. “We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military installations in Iran, effectively thwarting attacks against the State of Israel,” he said. He also stressed Israel’s unwavering readiness to defend itself, asserting, “Today, we have demonstrated our capability and resolve to act decisively. We are prepared to engage in both offensive and defensive operations to safeguard the state of Israel and its citizens.”
“Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilised,” Hagari added, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to ensuring national security in the face of ongoing threats.
On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed successful airstrikes on Iran’s missile manufacturing facilities, as well as surface-to-air missile systems across the country.
According to the IDF, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) targeted these sites based on intelligence indicating their involvement in producing missiles that Iran has launched at Israel over the past year. Explosions were reported in Tehran and nearby Karaj, with Iranian state media acknowledging the sounds but not specifying the cause. Semi-official Iranian sources, including Fars News Agency, stated that Israeli jets targeted multiple military installations linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) west and southwest of Tehran.
