Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant flagged off The World Table Tennis Star Contender 2023 today. The event will take place at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium from 27th February to 5th March.

The World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender 2023 series is marking the beginning of its journey in India with the state of Goa chosen to be its first Indian host.  Aimed at making history of winning the title in India, a cohort of elite table tennis players have participated in the table tennis tournament.

Goa is marking the first time WTT Series entering India making way for fans to witness the game play of their favourite hometown players.

In a message to the participating champions, Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant welcomed the delegations from all over the world and expressed pride at hosting World Table Tennis Star Contender 2023 in Goa for the first time ever.

World Table Tennis (WTT) was created by the International Table Tennis Federation in 2019 to create and manage professional men’s and women’s Table Tennis events around the world. The Series organised under the platform is the official professional table tennis series of events, with the world’s best players facing each other off in various category tournaments throughout the year with the four Grand Smashes being the ultimate prize to win.
