India has given lot to the world and yoga is the greatest gift to the world. We know that yoga is important for human being which lead to keep mind, body healthy stated by the Minister for Tourism Shri Rohan Khaunte who was inaugurating the two days Refresher Training on Yoga Education for the Government Primary School Teachers at Porvorim today.The training programme was organized by the Goa Education Development Corporation in collaboration with the Directorate Sports & Youth Affairs today.

      The Yoga Training programme for Government Primary School Teachers has been organized as Prathamik Shikshak Yog Saptah from April 17, to 21, 2023 under Yoga Education Scheme. The Government intends to introduce Yoga Subject at primary level from this year onwards. Therefore, the Government has imparted training to Government Primary School teachers well in advance.  The training camps have been started at six places involving around eight hundred Government Primary School teachers in both the districts.

The Minister speaking further pointed out about the unfair tendency of we people having our inclination towards westernization While the people from western countries are impressed with the Indian culture and willing to learn about. He said the Yoga is our tradition and needs to be carry forward to our succeeding generations where in teachers have important role in fulfilling the objective.

The Minister also said that ours is a youngest nation. Yoga will help in keeping young mind healthy and energetic. Yoga will also help to inculcate discipline, and integrate energy which can be diverted towards nation building he added.

The Chairman of Goa Education Development Corporation Shri Govind Parvatkar while speaking stressed on the need to divert young minds which are looted to mobile and make them utilise their time in learning yoga. As the Government intends to teach yoga from Primary School level so that we will be able to create healthy young generation with sound minds. The education of yoga will also help students to inculcate discipline and physically healthy with sound minds to become a good human being. To fulfil the very objective behind yoga, teachers have a pivotal role he said and hoped to get the objective fulfilled.

    In the beginning of the programme Miss Ima Patil and Miss Sahana Neugi performed  artistic pair  dance related to  yoga.

     The Yoga trainer Shri Tulshidas Mangueshkar imparted training to the school teachers who participated in the camp. Shri Vishal Gawas, Smt. Sulochana Barajankar, Dr. Swati Anvekar, were others who worked to impart training .Shri Ganesh Gosavi was the chief coordinator of the training programme.

Director SCERT Shri Shambhu Ghadi, ADEI Tiswadi Smt. Nisha Raikar, ADEI Mormugao Smt. Vatsala Vishwambharam, and others were present at the function.

Tr. Miss Roopa Morajkar compered the function while Managing Director GEDC Shri Aleixo F Da Costa proposed the vote of thanks
