Panaji: The Indian National Youth Congress will be organising a youth convention ‘Behtar Bharat ki Buniyaad’  from July 10 to 12 in Bengaluru. This was announced at a press conference on Thursday. Those present were Goa Youth Congress President Joel Andrade, State General Secretary Ahraz Mulla, South Goa District President Mahesh Nadar, State Social Media Coordinator Devsurabhee Yaduvanshi, and North Goa District vice president Maula Ali.

Andrade said that this youth convention will be one of the biggest in the country. “Our country is facing a challenging time on various fronts such as economic, social, political, etc. Unemployment, inflation, politics of hate, division, we have been facing such issues for a long time. The youth of this country want this to change. At this conference, we will discuss issues we need to highlight in a bigger way, exchange ideas, and our vision for the country moving forward. Youth who would like to join us can get in touch with Youth Congress representatives,” he said.

Ahraz said that India is facing unemployment, communal issues, and this movement is aimed at tackling these issues, understanding the problems that India is facing today, and creating “a better Bharat”.  “We need a strong foundation, a strong ‘buniyaad’ with all the youth coming together.  Prior to this, we will have discussions in Goa, with all the representatives going to Bengaluru,” he said.

Nadar said that this concept of ‘Behtar Bharat’ is an idea of the Congress to give the youth an opportunity to come together to talk about issues. ” It is also make suggestions and put forth ideas on how to make India a better country, and how to make India a place for people to live peacefully. We will take this forward to execute this feedback. We urge the youth to volunteer for this programme,” he said.

Yaduvanshi said that the Behtar Bharat ki Buniyaad App was launched recently by the national president of the IYC, and it is available on Google Play and Apple Store. “This is for a foundation for a better India, with a focus on the 2024 general elections. Connect with us through the app.  Goa has the second-highest unemployment rate in India. When we face such conditions under the BJP, it is important to raise our voices and stand for a better India as our future is at stake,” she said.
